Kooltherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board for WOC

Architects and builders working with a wide variety of concrete applications are seeking insulation solutions that deliver outstanding performance and provide cost saving benefits. At Kingspan Insulation’s first appearance at World of Concrete, the company will demonstrate how its innovative insulation technology can deliver quality performance and an increased R-value in comparative build-ups while lowering costs and saving space with its Kooltherm, GreenGuard and OPTIM-R premium performance products.

Visitors to booth S14019 will learn how Kingspan’s high performance insulation products can help builders save space. The Kingspan Kooltherm line offers an extensive range of premium performance insulation products for wall, floor, soffit/structural ceiling and concrete sandwich wall applications. Kooltherm K8 Cavity Board has a fiber-free rigid thermoset phenolic core, faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil that is used for insulation in partially filled cavity walls. Kooltherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board’s rigid thermoset insulation is ideal for tilt-up and precast concrete wall applications and is designed to enable thinner wall assemblies by offering an R-value of 17 on 2 inches.
“Attendees of World of Concrete 2019 will see real-world examples of how Kingspan’s line of Kooltherm insulation provides space and cost-saving benefits for a multitude of applications,” said Doug Crawford, Managing Director of Kingspan Insulation North America. “Our portfolio of high-quality energy efficient building envelope solutions are designed to achieve premium performance and maximize building space.”

Kingspan GreenGuard XPS Insulation Boards offer an R-value of 5.0 per inch of thickness and are ideal for a variety of applications including below slab, below grade along the foundation, inside basement walls, exterior insulation over wood sheathing and residing, as well as Continuous Insulation (Ci) for above grade walls and below grade walls and floors. Rigid extruded polystyrene insulation (XPS) can be used as a general-purpose insulation for roofing, wall and foundation applications requiring a minimum 25, 40 or 60 PSI compressive strength. In addition to creating healthier, more durable and cost-efficient structures, GreenGuard products can help meet “green” building certification requirements.

Kingspan OPTIM-R is a next-generation insultation comprising rigid vacuum insulation panels (VIP) with a microporous core, which is evacuated, encased and sealed in a thin, gas-tight envelope to give outstanding R-values and an ultra-thin insulation solution. The high level of thermal efficiency—up to R-28 on 1 inch and R-57 on 2 inch using calculated edge thermal resistance properties—combined with minimal thickness, provides an ideal solution for applications where a lack of construction space or depth is an issue such as commercial roofing and façade design.
