CSC Headquarters

The new 148,000 sqft headquarters of CSC in Wilmington, DE, brings the majority of CSC’s Delaware employees – currently spread out in separate locations over 10 miles – under one roof. A focus on employee health, collaboration, and sustainability resulted in a workplace that fosters the vibrant, team-based environment promoted by CSC and creates a best-in-class global headquarters.

The importance of creating a healthy and sustainable building that benefited both CSC’s employees and the company’s bottom line was the driving force behind architecture firm NORR’s decision to utilize a raised access floor system with underfloor air distribution (UFAD). “The most healthful air in the building, with an underfloor air-delivery system, is in the first six feet from the floor,” Jeffrey Morgan, Principal at NORR, says. “It’s an investment that forward-thinking companies make in their employees.”

Utilizing a UFAD system means that CSC employees are always receiving the cleanest air, and maintain control over the amount of air they receive. This contributes to increased employee health and satisfaction while also lowering ongoing operational costs through decreased energy consumption.

Of course, CSC’s new corporate home also needed to reflect a modern, sleek aesthetic, which is where Tate’s high-end architectural finishes came into the picture. From factory laminated hardwood to our new STONEWORKS™ Classic Concrete integrated panel, CSC’s panels arrived to the jobsite as a finished product ready for install, minimizing the need for additional on-site trades. And the seamless transitions between multiple finishes allowed zones for employee collaboration to be created while still maintaining the open office feel.

Raised access floors with high-end finishes and the use of UFAD has allowed CSC to create a stunning, future-proof environment for their new headquarters which will remain a model of sustainability for years to come.
