Kingspan Proudly Sponsors MeStrong 2020 in Deland

It’s a word no one wants to hear in their lifetime, and yet, we all do, whether we are personally affected or someone we love is. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world, according to the World Health Organization. Its impact is emotionally and financially draining for the families of those affected. That’s why at Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, we want to do our part to build a strong support system within our community.
On Saturday, February 1, we will be a proud sponsor for the ME STRONG 5K in DeLand, Fla., just minutes from our North American headquarters. We will be there to cheer on thousands of runners, pounding the pavement to support the friends, families and individuals battling cancer.
ME STRONG began as a way to support Linda Ryan, who was diagnosed with recurring cervical cancer. Starting in 2012, the non-profit extended its goal to raise money for other members of the community. The 2018 ME STRONG 5K raised more than $700,000 for patients in need of financial assistance and for cancer research.
While the mortality rate from cancer has dropped over the last 26 years, there is still work to be done. While early detection and treatments have improved, the American Cancer Society has found that a little more than 1 in 3 women and men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
While we are committed to a healthier planet on a global level, participating in the ME STRONG 5K allows us to directly help our neighbors. Join us in supporting our community in the Kingspan Cheer Zone along West Minnesota Avenue on Sunday morning. To learn more about the ME STRONG 2020 5k, please click here.
