KS1000 RT Roof tile

KS1000 RT roof panel, PIR panel, PUR panel, IPN panel

Product overview

The Kingspan Tiled Roof Systems looks like a traditional pantile roof but is in fact an insulated panel with a shaped exterior. The Tiled appearance of the panel means it is ideal to maintain visual effect of a traditional tiled roofIing, to incorporate with neighbouring tiled structures when needed, yet, with the simplicty of a single component, it is ready-to-install on site and mininises the time required to achieve the same effect.
  • Suitable for use on any commercial building with a roof pitch of 12° or more after deflection.
  • Excellent insulation properties meeting recommended values for passive buildings.
  • Reliable insulation over the lifetime.
  • Saving the load-bearing structure.
  • IPN FireSafe insulation core
  • Fire resistance REI 20, RE 30 DP3 from 100mm of thickness and for gradient from 15 ° to 45 °, the Broof(t3) classification
  • Supplied with a standard 150 mm cut-out (always right).
  • Assembly: Standard visible fastening at the point between the waves.
The Kingspan KS1000 RT panels, with outer sheet metal in the form of a roof tile, are designed to fit into a classic building. These panels can also be used for office and administrative buildings or school buildings.
  • the IPN insulation core offers excellent thermal insulation and fire protection properties.
  • thermal insulating properties and airtightness does not change throughout the lifetime of the roof
  • eliminates the risk of condensation inside the roof covering and thermal bridges are minimized

Manufactured panel lengths

Kingspan's Roof Tile panels are manufactured on a continuous production line according to customer requirements in lengths from 2.1 m to 13,475 m. In the case of a request for a longer length, please contact the technical department. The length of the panel is defined as the total length of the outer sheet including the end subsection.

Kingspan's Roof Tile panels are manufactured with standard lengths of the end overhangs and modular spacing of tiles.  If the length of the panel exceeds the required roof width, the panel is cut and covered by a comb ridge at the ridge.

  • Fe 220 G hot-dip zinc coated steel according to EN10147:1992.

Coatings – External Weather Sheet

  • High performance polymer, 35 micron thick. Colour – Terracotta or Anthracite.
  • Reverse side of sheet is coated with a light grey polyester coating.

Coatings – Internal Liner Sheet

  • Lining Enamel: 15 micron thick coating developed for use of the internal lining of insulated panels. Standard colour is “bright white” with an easily cleaned surface.

IPN insulation core (PIR)

A strong core of Kingspan for better insulation.
  • Our IPN insulation core made of closed-cell polyurethane hard foam provides an excellent thermal conductivity (lambda value) of 0.0224 W / mK.
  • Good for the environment and good for your customers, our IPN insulation core with zero ozone depletion potential shines. In addition, it is CFC / HCFC-free, odorless and safe for the stay and the health.
  • The rigid polyurethane foam reactions are chemically neutral, making it imposssible for mold and decay to form.

Heat transfer coefficient U [W/m²K]

The values of the heat transfer coefficient are determined in accordance with EN ISO 10211-2009.

Fire resistance

Kingspan's panels with IPN core insulation do not spread fire over the surface in a fire-hazardous area and no burning or non-burning particles leak.

Acoustic properties

All KS1000 RT panels in the 60-100mm thickness have a sound reduction index Rw = 24dB, at 160mm it is 25dB.

Biological aspect

Kingspan insulation sandwich panels are not affected by mold, fungi and insects.

Certificates and reports

Kingspan panels are certified according to various requirements (building, fire, thermal, mechanical, static, acoustic, etc.) and under different application conditions. For more information, please contact Kingspan.

KS1000 RT panels are stacked with the weather sheet face down and are required to be turned over during unpacking.
The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with foam and timber packaging and the entire pack is wrapped in plastic.
The number of panels in each pack is a maximum of 10 panals that are 45 mm thick, typical pack height is 1,100 mm. Number of panels per pack will vary according to panel thickness and panel length.

All deliveries (unless indicated otherwise) are by road transport to project site. Offloading is the responsibility of the client

Unloading and handling

The consignee is obliged to ensure the panels are properly unloaded according to the handling instructions given on the bundles. It is the responsibility of the transporter to record a delivery note of the handling method.

When manipulating the panel bundles, it is necessary to follow the storage and handling instructions contained in each bundle of panels.

To ensure the safe assembly of the panel bundles, appropriate mechanisms and aids (especially depending on the length of the panels), spacers, textile straps, etc. should be used.

When storing, it is necessary to prevent the accumulation of water between the panels, excessive loading of the panels and to protect them against the direct effects of sunlight, rain and dust.

Assembly of panels

The procedures and instructions for mounting the panels are available at Kingspan Technical Department. We can provide you with professionally trained installation staff.

For detailed information on unloading, storage, handling and installation, refer to the Technical Manual.
