Natural light for your building


HTL translucent panels can be used for industrial buildings such as warehouses, indoor buildings or factories, and are also suitable for civil buildings. The roof skylights we produce has excellent light transmittance and are UV resistant.

Translucent panels are made of high-quality fiberglass plate and cellular polycarbonate on the underside of the panel. The outer fiberglass plate is made in the form of a trapezoidal profile, compatible with the shape of the KS1000 FF sandwich panel. Our roof panels have excellent insulating and mechanical properties, are lightweight and easy to install.


The HTL panels are made of a fiberglass surface with trapezoidal profiling on the outside and an insulating panel made of cellular polycarbonate on the interior side of the panel. We can supply the polycarbonate plate in two different thicknesses, according to your requirements for the heat transfer coefficient. You can combine these translucent panels with KS1000 FF roof insulation panels with mineral fiber.
  • Thickness of inner insulating polycarbonate sheet is 25 mm or 32 mm.
  • Supplied with spacers (compensating the thickness difference between the insulating and the illuminating panel).
  • Fiberglass surface in the form of a trapezoidal sheet (same as for the KS1000 FF panel)
  • Heat transfer coefficient values U = 1.47-1.64 W / m²K (according to the width of the polycarbonate plate)
  • Good light transmittance, UV resistant
  • Complete product delivered from the factory
  • Modular width 1000 mm. Lengths from 1 m to 6,25 m (total length incl. cutback)

You can combine the KS1000 HTL translucent panels with the KS1000 FF roof panels. They can be used for different types of industrial buildings, such as factories, warehouses, hall buildings, as well as civil construction objects. We do not recommend the use of illumination panels in an environment with an increased indoor humidity.
  • HTL panels are suitable for roofs with an 8 ° (14%) gradient.
  • The panels must always be placed between the two KS1000 FF insulation panels perpendicular to the slope.

Manufactured panel lenghts

The standard length of the HTL panel is from 1.25 m to 6.25 m, including the cutback. Panels of shorter or longer lengths can not be delivered or modified on the site.

Cut back

All HTL panels are factory-fitted with a 250 mm cutback. When the panels are ordered it is determined whether the cut backs are on the left or the right of the panel so tha they can be stored in a specific arrangement on the roof. To order, use the order form you will receive at Kingspan Technical or Customer Service.

Fire properties

Tests were run to evaluate whether any burning paticles would drop from ceilings soffits and roofs. The tests concluded that:

  • No burning particles dropped from the ceiling mass.
  • No non-burning materials fell.

Notifications and definition of guarantees

The purchaser and prospective user acknowledges that the natural feature of polycarbonate light panels is the hygroscopic structure of the material allowing adsorption and penetration of water vapor. Depending on the environment, it may cause condensation of vapor in the chambers and "fogging" of panels. This phenomenon is considered to be a natural property and not a defect in accordance with EN 14963 (Annex A, paragraph A.3.6) and can therefore not be covered by safeguards.

Panels are provided with sealing tape at both ends of the panel by default, which limits moisture penetration into the panel and greatly reduces condensation and panel misting.

Standard packaging - road transport

In order to increase the transport capacity, the panels are placed on polystyrene blocks and the wooden pallets are stored on external pages (i.e., trapezes) to each other. The walls of the bundle are protected by foamed polystyrene boards. The entire bundle is wrapped in a polyethylene film.


Delivery

Unless otherwise stated, all panels are delivered by road to the building site.
The customer is responsible for unloading. More detailed information on the transport, handling and storage of panels for delivery to the construction site can be found in the Technical Guide brochure or, if requested, at Kingspan Technical Department.

 

Unloading and handling

The consignee is obliged to ensure proper unloading takes place in accordance to the handling instructions available on the bundles. It is the transporter's responsibility to enter a record of a delivery note containing the handling method used

When manipulating the panel bundles, it is necessary to follow the storage and handling instructions contained in each bundle of panels.

To ensure the safe assembly of the panel bundles, appropriate mechanisms and aids (especially depending on the length of the panels), spacers, textile straps, etc. should be used.

Storage

Roof lighting panels must be stored in such a way as to protect them from weather, such as rain, sun, etc. The protective cover film should not be removed from the parcels before they are ready for installation.

If the illuminated panel is already unpacked, it must be protected against weathering, especially against water and moisture, and thus should be protected until it is assembled, as described below. The non-assembled illuminating panel should not be exposed to rain and weather conditions!

Kingspan's warranties are assessed individually for each project, and are dependent on the suitability, type, and aggressiveness of the environment.
