Cavity wall insulation is placed in the gap between the interior and exterior walls of a property. It comprises of materials which inhibit heat transfer, by filling the air space in a cavity wall with this insulation, the amount of heat lost through the wall will fall dramatically, thus reduce heating cost. Kingspan EcoBead is a popular cavity wall insulation, it is a non-intrusive solution which is proven to reduce energy costs. This solution is one of the most efficient ways to improve your homes energy efficiency and can help improve thermal performance of both old and new properties.
What is Kingspan EcoBead?
The Kingspan EcoBead Insulation system is the technology leader in loose fill Cavity Wall Insulation, and is approved by the Irish Agrément board. Kingspan EcoBead is a combination of high performance insulated beads locked into tightly packed honeycomb matrix with a water based adhesive.
How is it installed?
Kingspan Ecobead is simple to install and will not contribute to site waste. We have designed a process to ensure that the installation of EcoBead in your home is as simple as possible.
Firstly our experienced technicians will discuss your insulation requirements and answer any questions you may have about the process.
An authorised Kingspan EcoBead technician will call to your home to conduct a site survey to ensure the property is suitable for this installation.
The Kingspan EcoBead installation team will arrive at your property and prepare to pump the cavity wall installation into your home. The installation team will drill a series of holes in the block work of your property through these holes the EcoBead will be pumped into the cavity, each of these holes will be 22mm in size.
This process will be carried out in the best way possible in order to minimise the aesthetic impact of the procedure on your property. For properties with a brick façade these drill holes will be placed in the mortar joints. Once the cavity space has been filled the installation team will use white cement putty to close up the drilled holes, remove all their equipment and leave your home as they found it. Overall this process should not exceed 4 hours.
