Challenge

To provide a cost-effective and sustainable water supply for non-potable uses within the University’s new £14M Creative Arts Building

Solution

We supplied a Kingspan Envireau which collects rainwater from the building’s roof and stores it in a 45,000 litres underground tank. From here, it is pumped to a header tank to service flushing the building’s WCs.  The system is backed up with mains water in case rainwater supplies are exhausted or the electricity fails.  Our system is part of a package of measures which, together, have enabled the building to achieve a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.
