Premium performance external wall insulation

Kingspan Kooltherm K5 is a premium performance rigid thermoset phenolic insulation board for use on external masonry walls. Manufactured in Castleblayney with a composite tissue face, Kooltherm K5 is suitable for use behind traditional and lightweight polymer modified renders and dry cladding systems.
Kingspan Kooltherm K5 External Wall Board is manufactured without the use of CFCs/HCFCs and has zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
  • Negligible smoke obscuration
  • Unaffected by air infiltration
  • Resistant to the passage of water vapour
  • Easy to handle and install
  • Ideal for new build and refurbishment
The composite tissue face of the Kooltherm K5 allows for suitable renders to be applied directly to the face of the Kooltherm insulation without the need for an additional carrier board. A target u value of 0.21 W/m²K or better should be achieved for new build wall constructions, while 0.27 W/m²K is advised on refurbishment schemes as a minimum.
