It is a name that is known the world over and a story that has been told countless times by Hollywood moviemakers. However, who better to tell the story of the most famous ship ever built than the City that built it.
The Titanic Belfast project is a £97 million development that tells the story of not only the Titanic, but also the shipbuilding and maritime community that was created around it.
Recognising the scale and cultural sensitivities of creating a world-class visitor attraction, the largest of its kind ever built in Northern Ireland, Kingspan Insulation set about delivering a bespoke build solution that would complement the architectural vision for the project.
Beneath the iconic zinc roof of the building that has redefined the Belfast skyline, architects specified high performance utilising Kingspan Kooltherm Metdeck technology – not only does Metdeck deliver superior thermal performance, it is also extremely easy to fit and install.
Adding to the buildings thermal credentials, Kingspan Kooltherm K7 for Ceiling applications and Styrozone Insulation for Protected Membrane Roofs and Green Roofs were also used.
As a landmark building for not just Belfast, but for Ireland as a whole, the selection of Kingspan Kooltherm products was a national endorsement of the brands technical capabilities.
Working at the very heart of the project, Kingspan TW50 Partial Fill Cavity Wall Insulation was used in conjunction with Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit and Kingspan Kooltherm K18 Insulated Plasterboard. Kingspan Kooltherm K12 Insulation was also employed for Timber and Steel Framing Systems to deliver superior high performance thermal capabilities throughout the build.
