Kingspan IKON innovation centre

About Kingspan in Ireland

Kingspan has been involved in Ireland’s construction industry for 55 years. From a small engineering business set up in Kingscourt, Ireland in 1965 to today’s €2bn global business, Kingspan operates in over 70 countries and still headquartered in Kingscourt. Kingspan is proud to be an irish household name.

We take our roots very seriously and growing Kingspan in Ireland and Northern Ireland continues to be a strategic goal.  In testament to this we recently opened our landmark global innovation centre IKON in Kingscourt.  IKON demonstrates Kingspan’s commitment to research into advanced building materials and the digitisation of construction – as well its continued investment in the town of its birth.

We now employee around 1400 local people across 12 Kingspan businesses in Eire and Northern Ireland and also run a thriving graduate programme, linking up to local Irish universities. We feel that as a significant global Irish business we have a responsibility to our future and the future irish generations to take local employment, training and development very seriously.

Positive Local Impact

We understand the importance of a positive local company influence on younger children too, by providing regular site visits, educational talks, and industry experience days for local secondary school students. These are activity packed days looking at different areas of the business, such as design, marketing and manufacturing. We also conduct mock interviews, hold careers conventions and offer work experience. We can’t wait to see what innovations these potential future employees can bring to our business!

Local Sponsorship

Being embedded within the communities in which we operate is a core part of our ethos and we are actively engaged with local causes and teams.  Our sponsorship of Ulster Rugby club is now in its 14th year and we are proud to be associated with smaller local teams such as Cavan GAA, Kingscourt Stars GAA, Ocean Breakers, and the Irish Track Project & Donnacha McCarthy.  Our local charity work focuses on sponsoring the Irish Hospice Foundation’s cycle each year as well as supporting sustainability-led projects such as Seamus the Salmon in Cork Harbour, which draws attention to ocean plastics and plastic sustainability.
