In February 2018, Microsoft unveiled its state-of-the-art Dublin-based HQ, One Campus, housing 2,000 staff from 71 different nationalities in a ground-breaking $134 million campus, designed by RKD Architects.
The new campus houses software development, testing and localisation, operations, finance, HR, sales and marketing teams for Europe, Middle East and Africa under one roof, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
The project, on a 3-hectare site, was overseen by BAM contractors. Internet of Things technology coupled with data analytics are used to gather data about the building's use and there is 350 kilometres of IT cabling running around it.
The facility incorporates over 25,000m2 of Kingspan Access Floors systems, including a range of medium and heavy grade solutions to meet the different loading requirements of the varied operational areas that include flexible office spaces, five restaurants, a gym wellness centre, a yoga box, Microsoft Technology Centre, and DreamSpace. Kingspan Insulation also supplied a number of products to this project to enhance the thermal performance of the building.
