Kingspan Insulation has announced a major investment in a new state-of the art manufacturing facility for its premium Kooltherm insulation product range. The new plant will be built close to Jönköping, Sweden, which is advantageously located with excellent transport links and surrounding infrastructure. The region is modern and dynamic with access to universities and a wide range of different types of companies and businesses.

Demand for Kooltherm products has grown significantly in recent years, especially in Sweden and Denmark, and is expected to continue to grow strongly in all Nordic and Baltic countries.

Commenting on the investment, Henk Bassie, Managing Director of Kingspan Insulation Continental Europe said:

Kooltherm is the cornerstone of our growth strategy in all these markets, and having this new facility will help to meet the increasing demand for our products.
The project starts immediately, and the plant is scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2019. The Nordic Kooltherm facility will initially employ around 20 people. When fully operational, it will provide employment for between 70-80 people. The plant will be designed to meet Kingspan's global goal of net-zero energy.

Kooltherm is a high-performance phenolic insulation material that makes it possible to construct energy efficient buildings with almost half the thickness of traditional mineral fibre insulation.

Kingspan Group is the global leader in effective insulation and building envelope solutions for the construction industry. In the 2017 financial year, Kingspan’s net sales were 3.7 billion euros, with 73 % of its sales coming from Europe. Kingspan operates in more than 100 locations in 60 countries and it employs over 11,000 people.
