Creativity and dedication pays off at the CMAs

The 18th Construction Marketing Awards (CMAs) Gala dinner took place at the Radisson Blu in London on Thursday 30 November 2017. Kingspan employees were well represented at the event with nominations in four different categories.

The UK CMAs are highly regarded as a measure of excellence in construction marketing and business development. Supported by The Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG), the awards are an invaluable opportunity to showcase the construction industry’s creativity, innovation and effectiveness in marketing.

Fae Perkins and Becky Cousins are the duo behind the Potton Marketing Team as well as Kingspan Timber Solutions. Fae and Becky were up for three awards–Best use of Advertising, Best use of Content Marketing and Marketing Team of the Year. Two Kingspan employees were nominated for Emerging Talent–Young Marketer of the Year, Lauren Miller of Kingspan Insulation and Emily Maguire of Kingspan Insulated Panels.

Lauren Miller: Emerging Talent–Young Marketer of the Year–Highly Commended

Lauren Miller, Digital Campaign Executive at Kingspan Insulation, joined the company in 2016. One of her first responsibilities was to manage the company's blog and quickly took it upon herself to exemplify the benefits of writing SEO content, as well as educating the marketing team on how to create good content. 

Within a month of joining Kingspan, Lauren was helping to launch the U-value Calculator app at Ecobuild 2016. Recognising the need to keep developing, she added the ability to recieve BIM objects to the U-value Calculator

Other highlights of her time at Kingspan have included leading the development and launch of e-learning features on and launching Kingspan Insulation's Kingspan Insight area, which includes use of the e-learning features and development of over 25 'how to' animations.
Lauren has enormous passion and energy for digital marketing, which shines through in each of her projects.

Emily Maguire: Emerging Talent–Young Marketer of the Year Winner

Emily joined the Kingspan Insulated Panels team as a Marketing Graduate in 2015.

Management were quick to realise Emily’s strong work ethic, tasking her with the development and delivery of the company’s Sustainability Report; where she produced an extremely high-quality document delivered in several languages.  

Emily was appointed Divisional Marketing Executive for the Fabrications, Safety, Energy and Lighting business unit at the end of 2016; developing and executing product content and driving marketing campaigns to support the global commercial team, whilst also acting as the liaison point between Kingspan Insulated Panels and the new Kingspan Light + Air division.

Emily has also been greatly involved in Kingspan Groups Graduate Programme, working closely with Louise Foody, Global Marketing Director, to support and execute a range of activities, events and communications to promote the company’s amazing opportunities for graduates.

Emily’s marketing strategy and execution resulted in a 50% increase in applications in one year. Emily is a key member of our global team and we are excited to see her influence the construction industry even more in the coming years.

Fae Perkins and Becky Cousins: Marketing Team of the Year Winners

Marketing Manager Fae Perkins works hand in hand with Marketing Executive Becky Cousins at self-build homes company Potton and Kingspan Timber Solutions in Bedfordshire. Fae and Becky were finalists in three award categories–Best Use of Advertising, Best Use of Content Marketing, and Marketing Team of the Year. The duo won Marketing Team of the Year for Kingspan Timber Solutions and Potton.

The Potton Marketing Team, has been extremely busy during 2017. This year saw the 25th anniversary of the company’s show centre and Potton embarked on an advertising campaign that saw a combination of on and offline activities encouraging visitor footfall with the strapline ‘Isn’t it time you visited?’. The campaign resulted in an 11% rise in visitors and a 100% increase in the number of visitors with a building plot, showing the campaign reached the target demographic.


The successes at the CMAs are a reflection of the hard work and dedication carried out by Kingspan employees. Massive congratulations to all involved.
