Bunjil Place, featuring an intricate roof façade system by Kingspan, has been awarded Architecture of the Year at the International Design Awards, one of the largest creative awards body in the world. The impressive building also picked up Gold commendations for two architecture categories, Institutional and Landmarks.
At a cost of $125 million, Bunjil Place is a multipurpose arts, civic and community facility which holds a public library, a theatre, meeting spaces, council offices and an art gallery. It was constructed in late 2017 under the architectural guidance of Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp. The entire multiplex spans an impressive 24,500m² and is idyllically situated in Narre Warren, 25km from Melbourne’s city centre.
