Sport Sponsorships

Community Spirit

We recognise our role in ensuring our companies are rooted in the communities in which we operate. We do this in a number of ways – through sport sponsorships, community funding, community volunteering and through partnerships with schools and colleges.
Community Funding

Community Funding

Operating a large manufacturing business does not always sit easily with social responsibility. We want to make sure that our local communities feel our presence as a benefit, not a drawback.

Kingspan Insulation Community Trust

Kingspan Insulation Community Trust

In 2006, we set up a Trust to fund local projects in the areas of biodiversity, ecology, road safety and healthy recreation for children. Over the years since the Trust was founded, we have been proud and delighted to support a huge range of local projects. From forest schools and wildlife ponds, to sports equipment and road safety gear. Even the creation of a village green conservation area.

Community Volunteering

Community Volunteering

Community for Kingspan isn’t all about providing funding. We also like to get our hands mucky, getting stuck in to projects where the gift of time can make a visible difference. Every year, employees from our UK insulated panel manufacturing site in Holywell give up days to do work in the community, giving us the chance to use our energy and skills to improve the local area.

Give & Gain Day

Give & Gain Day

This annual nationwide event, organised through Business in the Community (BITC), sees a 40-strong Kingspan team joining forces with local primary schools to transform the spaces children play and learn in. In 2016 it was the turn of Cornist Park County Primary School in Flint. When the children returned after one weekend in June, they found a forest school, castle sandpit, bug hotel and outdoor classroom had been created just for them.

Working with Schools

Working with Schools

We want to engage with the next generation of scientists, engineers, technicians and business professionals. We want to share how exciting and rewarding our industry is. We need to tap into the talent that lies in our young people. That is why our work with schools is not just about community engagement. After all, our future is in the hands of those who are still in education.

Support for Learning

Support for Learning

Recently, we partnered up with the Institute of Physics to get a ‘lab-in-a-lorry’ to visit local secondary schools in Herefordshire. With three distinct lab areas in the lorry, groups of up to six young people at a time took part in experiments delivered by volunteers. There were no right or wrong answers, and the sessions were not simply about teaching physics. They were designed to connect the children with the subject, and to encourage their curiosity and questions.

Danger Point

Danger Point

In Talacre in North Wales, we supported several local schools in visiting DangerPoint - an award winning interactive visitor centre offering young children the opportunity to learn about safety. Sponsoring the ‘building site scenario’ at the centre meant that we could engage pupils in the idea of construction as a career, as well as teaching them how to be safe.

Understanding the World Around Us

Understanding the World Around Us

In a society where children spend much of their time learning and communicating digitally, it is essential that they also have the chance to reconnect with the natural environment. Encouraging biodiversity on our manufacturing sites is a key part of our sustainability targets, and what better way to do this than by inviting local primary school children to get involved? Schools have visited our sites on many occasions to help us build ‘bug hotels’, bumble bee banks and plant wild flowers.

Practical Experience

Practical Experience

We provide regular site visits, educational talks, and industry experience days for local secondary school students. These are activity packed days looking at different areas of the business, such as design, marketing and manufacturing. We also conduct mock interviews, hold careers conventions and offer work experience. We can’t wait to see what innovations these potential future employees can bring to our business.
