There are so many opportunities across the Kingspan business, your career can take you in any direction you want it to.
How long have you worked for Kingspan?
What is Kingspan like to work for?
When I started working for Kingspan back in 2001, it was a small company in comparison to its size today, and it had a family feel about it. Each member of the team felt valued by all other Kingspan staff, including Senior Management and Directors, everyone knew everyone and always had time for a chat. Over the years, Kingspan has rapidly grown in size, but the family feel of the company has remained.
If you could give a new employee any advice what would it be?
Embrace Kingspan and all that it has to offer. One piece of advice that was shared with me when I started in the business was, “if you work for Kingspan, you have a job for life.” There are so many opportunities across the Kingspan business, your career can take you in any direction you want it to.
How have you grown your skills during your time at Kingspan?
When I started with Kingspan, I had little knowledge of the insulated panels industry. I was trained by a highly respected individual in the industry, who helped advance my career to where it is today. I have progressed from Technical Coordinator to Technical Manager. I have also qualified as a BREEAM Assessor.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
I enjoy working on projects from start to finish, and seeing the end result. This is especially enjoyable when working on a large export project in South Africa - a new emerging market for Kingspan. On a personal note, being promoted to Technical Manager was a major highlight of my career.
How has Kingspan helped you to develop as a person?
I have become more confident in my abilities and I am comfortable speaking with customers on a daily basis. I have developed skills that have been brought on by looking after a design team.
My Kingspan career in three words:
Enjoyable, educational and proactive.
"Be prepared to work hard."
"All doors are open… You just need to push them."
"I am proud to work for Kingspan."
