CIBSE Approved CPDs

Kingspan offer free CIBSE Approved Continual Professional Development (CPD) seminars examining issues and products relating to the Building Services / HVAC industry. CPD seminars are usually run over lunch time at your office / or location of your choice.

However, with many of us currently working from home, we can now deliver CPD webinars via Zoom. (Please tick the box in the form below if you would like the seminar presented via Zoom / Video conference).

The CPDs available are listed below:

  • Limiting the Effects of Overheating in Building Services Applications
  • Innovations in next generation pipe insulation systems for building services / HVAC applications
  • Rethinking Ductwork
  • A new approach to building services insulation to adapt to the changing environment

Limiting the effects of overheating in building services applications

Figure 3 Crop
Rising temperatures have highlighted issues with buildings overheating, and the contribution of building services to unwanted heat gains is coming under scrutiny.

Recent research from AECOM has suggested that the use of an enhanced specification of pipe insulation and insulated pipe supports on hot water and heating pipework can drastically reduce overheating in some buildings.

This seminar examines the issues of overheating, including in void and corridor spaces, relating to building services insulation. The benefits of going a step further than the base Building Regulation requirements are considered, along with optimising the design and implementation of building services insulation systems.

Time for change – helping a new generation of engineers get it right first time

Kensington High Street
Key factors in a sustainable future are reducing waste and inefficiency. Not all of our existing practices follow this basic rule, we get it wrong so many times in our industry it is time for a change, time to challenge poor practice. Building services insulation might appear to play a small part in this, but a change in outlook can have significant rewards – scaled up they can have a big impact.

This CPD Seminar looks at how, with some simple changes, we can get specification of building services insulation, right first time.

Innovations in next generation pipe insulation systems for building services / HVAC applications

Kooltherm Pipes Master WBGround

In this CPD Seminar, we examine how high performance insulated pipework systems can benefit the fire safe design, construction, maintenance of energy efficient buildings. The seminar provides an overview of the different HVAC / building services insulation options available and covers all aspects of compliance including the latest regulations; and an overview of the Enhanced Capital Allowances and long-term cost savings which can be achieved by insulating pipework to higher specifications such as NES Y50 Enhanced.

Rethinking ductwork

Figure 3 Crop
This CPD covers our range of pre-insulated ductwork and illustrates the benefits of
such a system such as the 2010 Building Regulations / Standards, energy & carbon
performance, air leakage, BREEAM 2011, thermal & fire performance,
product performance and applications and case studies with data.

A new approach to building services insulation to adapt to the changing environment

Building services insulation is too often overlooked, however taking the right approach to specification can help address the combined pressures of energy efficiency, health & well-being and climate change whilst providing value to both occupants and clients.

This seminar includes an examination of why and where insulation can fall short, and how those involved in building services insulation can work together to improve HVAC installations for the benefit of the environment.
