Kingframe

The Kingframe Steel Framing System (SFS) is a component-supply, structural, stud façade system commonly used in two main methods of employ; Infill and Oversail. The system consists of C & U shaped studs and tracks, designed on a project specific basis to form the inner leaf of a façade.
Both systems are constructed on-site and must be designed and installed to BS5950 and BS8000. 

SFS has been extensively used in construction projects covering residential flats, apartments, healthcare and educational developments, commercial developments, public buildings and industrial properties.

  • The Structural Steel Framing System (SFS) is a component-supply, structural, stud façade system commonly used in two main methods of employ; Infill and Oversail. The system consists of C & U shaped studs and tracks, designed on a project specific basis to form the inner leaf of a façade.
  • Both systems are constructed on-site and must be designed and installed to BS5950 and BS8000. Liability for the quality and accuracy of the installation rests with the Contractor and not Kingspan Steel Building Solutions.
  • SFS has been extensively used in construction projects covering residential flats, apartments, healthcare and educational developments, commercial developments, public buildings and industrial properties.


Speed of Build

  • SFS offers installed time savings of over 60% over blockwork.
  • Rapid dry envelope – reduced time to achieve a watertight structure over a traditional build allows access for follow on trades earlier and further reduces the build programme. 
Quality and Cost
  • Lightweight cold rolled steel sections are precision engineered products manufactured to tight tolerances ensuring exact performance resulting in less time spent on-site correcting errors and solving problems.
  • SFS can incorporate a vast array of architectural treatments and features and allows large spans and large structural openings without the need for windposts.
  • Just-in-time - delivery of components as needed allows construction on tight sites, lowering cost in site management and storage facilities
Building Physics
  • Warm frame construction from lightweight cold rolled steel sections can be designed to easily to achieve high levels of structural, fire, acoustic and thermal performance achieving a typical U-values of between 0.11-0.35 W/m2.K and an acoustic performance of 55/65 dB.
Design
  • If requested, schemes can be fully detailed prior to rolling, exposing potential clashes at the design stage there by resolving them before they become costly problems on-site.
Sustainability
  • Light steel walls offer A ratings in the BRE Green Guide.
  • Steel sections are 100% recyclable. This is increasingly important as the lifetime environmental impact of the buildings is increasingly scrutinised to meet tighter Government legislation.
