The proprietary jointing system used with the Kingspan TEK Building System creates an incredibly airtight structure which can achieve Passivhaus levels of 0.6 ach @ 50 Pa if so desired. Standard construction usually results in performance of circa 1.0 m3/hr.m2 @ 50 Pa.
At this level of airtightness we recommend the inclusion of MEV or MVHR air handling as window vents are insufficient for Approved Document Part F.
Based on brick cladding a wall based on our 142mm TEK panel achieves 0.19 W/m2.K or 0.16 W/m2.K with a 172mm panel without additional Kooltherm lining. For other U values we add an internal Kooltherm lining behind the service batten. For Passivhaus we recommend the use of Kooltherm externally to wrap the structure. We will assist your Architect in the development of an appropriate wall specification including condensation risk analysis free of charge as part of our Customer technical support.
