Jewel Changi Airport Singapore

Kingspan Light + Air worked on project jewel at Changi International Airport in Singapore.

Jewel is a new retail complex which acts as the central hub connecting airport terminals 1,2 and 3. It has a gross floor area of about 134,000 m², that comprises a mix of retail, leisure and commercial partners and also a striking five story waterfall.

One of the most distinctive project features is the distinctive dome-shaped facade, made entirely of glass and steel. Our team worked with the architects and project team to specify and install over 100 Lumera ventilation windows, designed specifically for structural glass roofs and critically for this projects, are lean and have concealed controls which support the desired design aesthetic.

The Lumera ventilation windows also operate as an integral element of a wider Smoke and Heat Exhaust Vent (SHEV) system, which we also worked with local partners to design and install. To ensure the maximum levels of safety, the windows will open automatically upon detecting smoke to push it out of the building as quickly and safely as possible.
