The school, which was built as part of Hull City Council’s ‘Building Schools for the Future’ initiative, gained Academy status in June 2013. Designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, its powerful form is accentuated by the striking saw toothed roof with seven pitches.
To insulate the building’s metal rainscreen façade, Roofdec Ltd installed over 900 m² of 100 mm thick Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board.
To make full use of natural light, the brick facia to the main entrance features multi-storey glazed sections and to minimise the heatloss from around these windows, 75 mm Kingspan Kooltherm Cavity Closer was installed. The product ensures a continuous insulated cavity around the windows without the need for cut blocks or special reveals.
