Frequently Asked Questions for Flat Wall Panel QuadCore Evolution

We've put together a list of FAQs to assist with understanding our QuadCore Evolution Insulated Wall Panels, have a look below or contact us for more information

Q. Do you have construction details for QuadCore Evolution insulated wall panels?

A. Yes we have generic construction details for horizontally and vertically laid panels,

QuadCore Evolution Axis construction Details
QuadCore Evolution Recess construction Details
QuadCore Evolution Multi-groove construction Details

Q. Can you explain the joint details between the panels?
 A. Yes, the generic construction details include plan and vertical sections through the joints.

Q. Do the three QuadCore Evolution products have full collection of BIM details
A. Yes, they have full collection of BIM details

Q. When installing QuadCore Evolution onto Steel Framing Systems (SFS), how is the movement joint overcome at slab level for this product?
A. A typical solution is included in the generic construction details for QuadCore Evolution panels to a SFS.

Q. Can fins be attached to the face of a QuadCore Evolution panel and if so can you show this detail?
A. Fins can be attached through the panels into suitable supporting structure. Typical details are available upon request.

Q. Can the panels be fixed to RC or masonry walls?
A. Not directly. Pressed steel interleaved channel sections should be first fixed to receive the panels

Q. What is the fire classification and certification of QuadCore Evolution insulated wall panels?
A. Reaction to fire classification: according to BS EN 13501–1:2007+A1:2009 is B-s1,d0.
BR135/BS8414: Classification applies only to the specific system and construction arrangement tested (orientation, method of support etc.), see here for more details
Fire resistance classification: for panels of 80mm minimum thickness is EI30 for spans up to 4m and E!15 for spans greater than 4m.

Q. Does fire certification cover all insulation thicknesses even though it is only tested for one thickness?
A. Reaction to Fire Classification: covers all thicknesses.
BS8414-2 / BR135 Classification: Applies only to the specific system and construction arrangement tested (orientation, method of support etc.), see above link for more details
The Fire Resistance Classification: applies to panels of 80mm minimum thickness.

Q. What is the duration of fire resistance for the panel in terms of integrity and insulation?
A. QuadCore Evolution panels of 80mm minimum thickness achieve 245 minutes integrity, 31 minutes insulation. The Classifications for fire resistance, inside to out, are EI 30 for spans up to 4m and EI 15 for spans greater than 4m. Joint treatment is required and the supporting structure must be designed as a firewall.

 Q. Does the product have LPCB accreditation?
A. Yes, LPS 1181-1 EXT-B; Certificate No. C260F-04

Q. Have any of the QuadCore Evolution profiles been tested to CWCT Standards?
A. Optimo (former name of QuadCore Evolution) has been tested to CWCT Standards.

Q. What colours are available for QuadCore Evolution insulated wall panel
A. For a full list of QuadCore Evolution colours please download our brochure here

Q. What are the standard cover widths available for QuadCore Evolution?
A. QuadCore Evolution Axis standard cover width are 600/900/1000
QuadCore Evolution Recess standard cover width are 600/900/1000
QuadCore Evolution Multi-Groove cover widths are 900/1000

Q. What is the maximum cover width of QuadCore Evolution insulated wall panles should it be required for bespoke project?
A. 1179mm

Q. What is the maximum dimensions of a panel which can pre-formed corners
A. See Corners Tab

Q. What is the minimum curvature/radius of QuadCore Evolution panel?
A. Horizontally laid QuadCore Evoution Axis and QuadCore Evolution Recess - 2500mm to face; Minimum panel length = 1000mm; Maximum panel length = 6000mm. Vertically laid QuadCore Evolution Axis - 200mm to face; Minimum panel length = 1000mm; Maximum panel length = 7900mm.

Q. What is the thickness of the external / internal faces?
A. External sheet thickness is 0.63mm; Internal sheet thickness is 0.465mm.

Q. What is the maximum length of the panel?
A. QuadCore Evolution Axis and QuadCore Evolution Multi-Groove - 1.8 to 17m; QuadCore Evolution Recess - 1.8 to 8m

Q. What lengths can QuadCore Evolution span?
A. This depends on panel thickness and Contract specific wind loads. As a guide, with a wind load of -1.20kN/m², 80mm thk QuadCore Evolution panels are structurally adequate over 3.8m span; 120mm thk panels over 4.8m span.

Q. Are Longspan versions available?
A. Yes

Q. Are non-standard cover widths available?
A. QuadCore Evolution Axis and QuadCore Evolution Recess are available in non-standard cover widths, subject to Minimum Order Quantities (MOQS), QuadCore Evolution Multi-groove is not available with non-standard cover widths.

Q. The Air Tightness value in the spec as Air leakage rate: 3m3/hr/m2 at 50 Pa based on the assumption that the full building envelope is constructed using Kingspan Facades. Would you be able to advise if the Air leakage rate could be reduced to 2m3/hr/m2 at 50 Pa?
A. To target air permeability of less than 3m³/hr/m² at 50 Pa, non-curing butyl sealant should be site applied to the internal female joints of the panels. Any surplus exuding form the joints should be wiped clean as the work proceeds.

Q. What is the acoustic rating of the panel?
A. QuadCore Evolution insulated wall panels have a single figure weighted sound reduction index (Rw) of 24dB.

Q. What is the thickness range?
A. See Thk W & U Tab

Q. What is the U Value?
A. See Thk W & U Tab

Q. What is the weight?
A. See Thk W & U Tab

Q. What is the product warranty / guarantee? Does this cover the fixings, gaskets/tophats, coatings or just the panel itself? If it just the panel then what is warranty on the other items?
A. QuadCore Evolution has up to forty year structural and thermal performance warranty on the panel product only, not including any externally exposed gaskets. Spectrum finish warranty is 30 years (inland). Altaris finish warranty is 40 years (3 or 4 layer system, inland).
