Kingspan access flooring has been specified for a Grade A office building in the next phase of the First Street Manchester development, a joint venture partnership between Ask and Manchester city Council to regenerate the most prominent gateway to the city centre.

Kingspan Contracts is installing 14,000 sq m of RMG 600 panels throughout the 10-storey building. Two Kingspan installation teams have been assigned to the project, enabling the company to complete two levels at the same time. Installation is due to be completed by July.

Carillion are the main contractors in the First Street scheme, which stretches out over 20 acres of city centre heartland.

First Street is designed to attract both big business and small independents, and the developers are confident that this unique new setting will become a breeding ground for artistic endeavour and enterprise.

The office building in the current phase of the project is identical to one in the first phase which has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.

A new public square has been created and streets across the development have been named after many of the City’s famous creative pioneers.
