Liverpool Central Library

Sensitive redevelopment

After three years and a £55million refurbishment, the Liverpool Central Library reopened in 2013. The redevelopment aimed to strike a balance between restoring the grade II listed buildings and introducing new 21st century spaces.

Project details

We installed over 3,000sq m of RHG600 panels throughout the redeveloped building in the new entrance, conservation studio and on mezzanine levels. The finished floor height ranges from 250mm to 600mm.

Liverpool City Council, which runs the facility says more than one million people visited the library in its first 12 months, more than double the previous average figure.
