This key urban refurbishment project in the centre of Leeds, required a raised access flooring system made up of over 1,150 sq. m. of RMG600 panels, our most frequently specified PSA standard raised access flooring. Installation was completed on time within five months and on budget. The PSA RMG600 system, which can be found throughout the five-storey building, facilitates easy panel removal and replacement. The system also provides full electrical continuity and static dispersion.
Originally built in the early 20th Century and neglected after the warehouse fell into disuse, the building was sensitively refurbished by developers Boultbee Brooks (BBRE) and architect, Gpad London, who specified Kingspan Access Floors for the redevelopment. The flooring system wraps around the reimagined interior, perfectly preserving key features from the building's industrial past. Original 'raw' features including our exposed steel RMG flooring panels, allowed each tenant in the fully-let commercial space to incorporate their own choice of quality finishes.
The former yarn and cord warehouse was crowned the 'best new office' in the 'Projects up to 1,500 sq. m.’ category in the recent BCO Awards, with judges commending the “vibrant tech-focussed office space” as a forward thinking, adaptable and exciting work hub for dynamic, creative businesses relocating to or based in Yorkshire.
The project demonstrates what can be achieved with careful and considered design and application. The new working environment combines the well-built industrial interior with an access floor, to create a modern commercial office that enables tenants to modify office layouts, provides greater flexibility and significantly reduces costs.
