FAQs

Floating floors are used most often in domestic buildings especially when retrofitting or refurbishing an existing building. This is because they are quick, lightweight and easy to install, thinner than screed options, with no wet trades and no drying-out time. They also allow for fast heating response times.

Find out more about how to construct and insulate a floating floor.
We are often asked if it’s possible to fix our insulated plasterboard to existing plaster, and if so what would be the best method.

The short answer is that insulated plasterboards can be bonded over existing plaster using acrylic sealant adhesive or low expanding PU foam adhesive so long as the plaster is sound, solid and dry. However there are a few more issues that need to be considered before you start. Learn more about fixing insulated plasterboard to already plastered walls here.
If you are completing a loft conversion or renovating your attic space, you will want to ensure that you install insulation between the rafters of your pitched roof. Before doing this, there are a number of key design considerations which will affect the build-up of the roof and the choice of insulation.

The new septic tank regulations mean that if your septic tanks discharges directly into a watercourse (for example, ditches, streams, canals, rivers, surface water or drains), you will be required to upgrade your drainage system or replace it with a sewage treatment plant as soon as possible (typically within 12 months).

Learn more about the new septic tank regulations and what they for you mean here.
