Buildings take infinite shapes and forms, while using a very wide variety of materials and systems. System tests show that the same material may perform differently in real fire scenarios, depending on what combination of materials are used with it, and how it is installed. System testing, rather than materials testing, addresses this.

For this reason, we firmly believe that large-scale system testing is the appropriate way to assess the performance of any given roof or wall system.

The Importance of Large Scale System Testing

This video and blog will demonstrate that there is a huge breadth in performance across different “combustible” products. It is because of this that there are tested systems, which contain “combustible” insulation, that can perform very similarly to systems which contain only “non-combustible” insulation and cladding.

Insulation Boards

Kingspan insulation boards are tested to application-specific system assemblies. These include full scale facade tests such as BS 8414, fire resistance tests to EN 1365-1 and roof assembly tests to TS 1187(t4). Furthermore, boards in our soffit and roofing ranges hold FM approvals.
