The Project

21 Slimline tanks were installed on site – one for each townhouse. Sizes ranged from 1500L to 2000 and all tanks came with two Kingspan exclusives; an Evolution MkIII pump and innovative High-flow filter.

The service
Kingspan worked with the estimators to offer a complete solution, assisting with the specification and design of the tanks required. It was important that the tank system contributed to the stormwater management plan under Moreland Council requirements for all the townhouses.

Challenge
The tanks were to be installed internally in garages, which risks overflow flooding during heavy rain events. To mitigate the risk, Kingspan’s innovative High-flow filter was fitted to each tank which is designed to handle 600 litres of water flow per minute.

Application
Approximately 75% of the roof catchment will be harvested into the rainwater tanks. This will allow each townhouse to utilise rainwater for toilet flushing significantly more than mains water. The size of the tanks will ensure that maximum usage is maintained through cycling of rainwater catchment and use.
