Just 5km from Brisbane’s city centre, University of Queensland’s main campus is in St Lucia.

Currently there are approximately 52,000 students enrolled at UQ and 3,000 students living at the university. Enrolments and demand for student accommodation is expected to increase so it is important UQ caters to this forecast.

In the UQ St Lucia Campus Master Plan which was released in 2017, a focus on additional services for students was highlighted. As the population at the university grows, it is important that students are provided with extra services such as child care and health support facilities.

Part of this initiative included the redevelopment of the university’s clinic & research precinct. Kingspan was asked to provide an on-site stormwater management system to manage the roof water run-off from 10 new and refurbished buildings including the psychology clinic and parenting and family support centre.

The system included a total of 10 Modline water tanks in Basalt – 6 x 5000L and 4 x 7000L tanks fitted with low level detention storage.
