Club Jubilee One

Melbourne’s first residents-only water park is a high-quality, private facility that showcases the Jubilee Estate vision.

The Project

Described as a wonderland for kids and adults alike, Melbourne’s first residents-only water park is a high-quality, private facility that showcases the Jubilee Estate vision. The brief called for a distinctive, modern facility that would serve as an exclusive recreation club and family-friendly water park.

This state-of-the-art recreational facility includes a 25-metre pool, learn to swim and toddler pool, a splash pad and play equipment, and two large waterslides. The centre also houses change rooms as well as reception, first aid and administration facilities.

KingZip Linea in RAL 7038 & KS1000 RW in COLORBOND® Shale Grey
Designed by architecture firm Baldasso Cortese, the building concept prioritised energy efficiency and low lifecycle costs over the building’s use and life span. Additional design goals included rainwater harvesting for the pool water and passive solar design.

The standout features are the dramatic structural roof form and colourful waterslides that dominate the façade. In addition to the Kingspan KingZip standing seam aluminium roofing system, 2,400 square metres of KS1000 RW was also used across the centre, creating a unique aesthetic for the aquatic centre.
Club Jubilee One Kingspan KingZip Linea Standing Seam Roofing Aluminium 2

Kingspan KingZip standing seam aluminium roofing system was highly suited to this project due to its non-corrosive properties, which ensures the humid pool environment will not impact the performance and integrity of the materials. The panels create a sealed and protected thermal and acoustic envelope, increasing the building’s sustainability, and achieving the energy efficiency objectives. The KingZip system is also customisable, making it the ideal solution for the curved roof design. The panels could be curved on site, saving room on materials storage and creating a streamlined installation process.

Kingspan KS1000RW Trapezoidal roof panels were used across the facility. Providing a superior system compared to conventional multi-part site assembled systems, the KS1000RW panels are quicker to install, require less manual labour and are designed to meet thermal building regulation compliance.
