Kingspan Insulation has recently implemented an integrated management system (IMS) into its new state of the art manufacturing facility in Somerton.
Aligning with the company’s commitment of continual improvement in safety, quality, environment and energy management, the system has been adopted to comply with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001.
The new manufacturing facility was audited by SAI Global in July 2017 where it received certification as compliant to all four targeted ISO standards.
This certification not only confirms Kingspan has effective systems to ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, regulatory and voluntary obligations, but also confirms the requirements applicable to conformity of manufactured product and customer expectations are being met.
Kingspan ensures its consideration of the impacts of its business activities on all its stakeholders, and adopts lifestyle perspective towards goods and services when formulating policies and procedures.
The company’s commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health and improving efficient use of energy and resources has not only been demonstrated through the implementation of the IMS, but also its willingness to partner with suppliers and customers to help them improve their own management systems and target the same goals.
Kingspan’s IMS provides a framework for establishing performance indicators that support improvement. It ensures overall effectiveness is reviewed periodically, targets are being met and progress is consistent with the company’s strategic direction.
In order to support the IMS, Kingspan ensure any necessary resources are provided to management to aid with instruction, training, supervision, advice, and assistance to help their employees understand their legal obligations and responsibilities in the work place.
