Governments worldwide now recognise that water is a scarce resource that needs to be properly regulated through legislative conservation and management programmes at a national level. These measures involve the implementation of regulations and codes relating to sustainable drainage strategies (SuDS), water saving technology products, greywater recycling systems and rainwater harvesting initiatives such as the Code for Sustainable Homes (UK) and BREEAM.
